What stops one customer reading another’s data is row level security, and those policies are generated rather than designed.
Why the database is the first thing we look at
The failure pattern is consistent: a table where RLS was never enabled, a policy that checks a user ID the client supplies, or a permissive policy added to make something work and never narrowed. Any of the three exposes the table to anyone who opens developer tools.
Then the usual generated-code optimism: authorisation checked in the interface rather than on the server, edge functions that trust their input, and keys with more scope than the front end needs. We test all of it and write the findings for someone who cannot read the code.
ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS and Cyber Essentials Plus audits accept manual penetration test evidence. Scan-only evidence is generally insufficient.

Theirs is automated and runs continuously, which is useful. Ours is manual, delivered by a named CREST-certified assessor, and produces a report your enterprise customer or auditor will accept as independent evidence. Use the automated one for hygiene and this one when someone is asking for proof.
Do you need access to our Supabase project?
Read access to the schema and policies makes the test far more thorough, because we can reason about every table rather than only the ones we discover. We also want two accounts so we can test isolation properly.
I built this myself and cannot read the code. Can you still help?
Yes. We test the running application, and the report is written so you can act on it without a security background. Where a fix needs a developer we specify exactly what to ask for.
How much does it cost?
