Replit App Penetration Testing
Replit takes you from prompt to deployed application quickly, and deployment is the moment the assumptions matter. We pen test what got shipped: the secrets, the auth, the database rules and the endpoints nobody meant to expose. CREST-certified testers, fixed price from £2,210, scoped in 24 hours.
- Unlimited retesting
- No rescheduling or cancellation fees
- Fixed quote within 24 hours
“I would highly recommend EJN Labs to any organisation seeking reliable, detailed, and well-managed penetration testing services, particularly for government or enterprise-level projects.”
“There wasn’t another company we could find that could deliver what we needed in the timeframe we needed. The client loved it, and we got instant ROI from the engagement.”
Agent-generated applications are usually structurally sound. The routes exist, the login works, the database connects. What they tend to lack is suspicion, because the model wrote the feature that was asked for and not the check against the user who was not supposed to reach it.
Why generated code is optimistic about trust
So the findings cluster in predictable places: authorisation verified in the interface but not on the server, record identifiers accepted without an ownership check, and administrative routes protected by nothing more than being unlinked.
Deployment adds its own. Secrets that worked as environment variables in development sometimes end up in the client bundle or the repository, development endpoints stay reachable in production, and the Repl itself may be public when the application is not.
ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS and Cyber Essentials Plus audits accept manual penetration test evidence. Scan-only evidence is generally insufficient.
SECRETS, AUTH + DATABASE
What we actually pen test on a Replit app
Manual pen testing across secrets and environment exposure, authentication and authorisation, database access, deployment configuration and dependency risk.
Secrets and environment exposure
Whether keys and tokens reach the client bundle or the repository, Replit Secrets usage, whether the Repl or its files are publicly viewable, and what the deployed bundle reveals.
Authentication and authorisation
Whether access control is enforced server-side, session and token handling, Replit Auth configuration where used, password reset, and whether an ordinary user can reach an administrative route.
Record ownership and isolation
Whether object identifiers are checked against the requesting user, and whether one account can read, change or delete another account’s records through any endpoint.
Database and storage access
Database rules and connection scope, whether the database is reachable directly, object storage permissions, and whether generated queries are parameterised.
Deployment and endpoints
Development and debug routes reachable in production, error verbosity, deployment configuration, always-on and autoscale settings, and what the deployment exposes beyond the intended application.
Dependencies and supply chain
Packages pulled at build for known vulnerabilities, whether versions are pinned, and hallucinated or typosquatted package names, which agent-generated projects occasionally introduce.
METHODOLOGY
Replit App Penetration Testing: From Scope to Attestation
CREST-aligned methodology built on OWASP Web Security Testing Guide, OWASP ASVS, NIST SP 800-115, and PTES. Each finding maps to all four standards plus your specific compliance regime.
Reconnaissance
Application mapping, technology fingerprinting, content discovery, parameter enumeration, authentication-flow analysis, role-matrix construction.
Vulnerability Assessment
Authenticated and unauthenticated automated scanning across every user role, plus targeted manual checks for known weakness patterns.
Manual Exploitation
Hands-on testing by a CREST-certified pentester. Business-logic exploitation, chained vulnerabilities, privilege escalation, impact validation.
Reporting + Retest
Executive summary, technical report with CVSS scores and reproduction steps, walkthrough call, free retest after remediation, attestation letter.
CREDENTIALS
Verified Accreditations Auditors Accept
Every credential below is independently verifiable. UK procurement teams, FCA supervisors, ISO 27001 / SOC 2 auditors, and cyber insurance underwriters all recognise these standards.

FAQ
Frequently Asked
Replit has its own security tooling. Why use you?
Different purpose. Built-in tooling catches known patterns automatically. We provide a manual test by a named CREST-certified assessor and a report your customer, auditor or insurer will accept as independent evidence. If nobody is asking you for evidence, the built-in tooling may be enough.
The app was mostly written by an agent. Does that change anything?
It changes where we look rather than how we test. Agent-generated code tends to be complete on the happy path and thin on authorisation, so we spend proportionally more time on access control and record ownership.
Do you need access to the Repl?
Read access helps considerably, particularly for dependency and secret checks. We can test the deployed application alone, and we will find less.
Can you test before we launch?
That is the best time. Testing a staging deployment before your first customer sees it costs the same and avoids fixing things in front of them.
What do we receive?
A report written for a third party’s scrutiny, a plain remediation list you can act on without a security background, a walkthrough call and unlimited free retesting until findings close.
